Clarion’s powerful two-piece CMS4 marine-grade multimedia source unit provides true four zone support with independent source and volume, and numerous music source options
Cypress, Calif. May 1, 2017 – Clarion Corporation of America, a leader in consumer and commercial mobile electronics, has been honored today with the selection of the all-new, ultra-rugged, feature-rich CMS4 two-piece marine-grade multimedia source unit, as one of Boating Industry’s Top Products of 2017. Honorees were selected for their innovation, impact on the industry, creativity, and more. The 2017 Top Products list is featured in Boating Industry's May issue and online.
“Each year, we go through hundreds of products that have either been introduced or significantly updated since the beginning of 2017 and judge each based on several standards to weed out what we feel are the most groundbreaking boating products of the year,” said Boating Industry editor in chief Jonathan Sweet. “Clarion’s CMS4 marine-grade source unit impressed us with its innovative and vast feature set and use of high-quality materials designed to endure the rigors of marine use.”
Boasting exceptional performance, the new Clarion CMS4 is an ultra-rugged, feature-rich multimedia source unit designed from ground-up for the unforgiving marine environment. The two piece system featuring an exceptionally elegant iP66-rated control unit and a compact black box brain, offers significant power at 280 watts (70w x 4 at 2-ohm), four multimedia source zones (each with independent zone volume control), an ultra-bright color TFT LCD display optically bonded to Corning® Gorilla Glass®, and a host of great features such as Bluetooth with aptX music streaming, satellite radio and Pandora internet radio, and is Apple® certified for iPod, iPhone and iPad!
Designed specifically with marine applications in mind, Clarion spent considerable time studying how marine users interact with their audio systems, and developed a new intuitive user interface from the ground-up that offers simple control of the system’s robust features. The attractive GUI is navigated using a dedicated rotary pushbutton menu control knob, while music playback buttons and a volume knob provide for simple control of the audio system with no distraction. Clarion also makes great use of the vibrant TFT display by enabling a camera input so that the user can clearly monitor their surroundings.
“Our product team put considerable time and thought into developing the CMS4 to offer a balance of premium features, durability and good looks, and we are honored that Boating Industry Magazine sees the value in all the work that went into creating this innovative two-piece marine audio source unit,” said Allen H. Gharapetian, Vice President of Marketing and Product Planning for Clarion Corporation of America. “Having been included in the Top Products round up for second year in a row serves as proof that Clarion’s marine products offer remarkable performance and immense value and it further validates Clarion’s leadership in the marine audio systems space.”
